Brett graduated cum laude from South Texas College of Law in 2011. She served as Assistant District Attorney in Cameron County Texas (Brownsville) and also served as prosecutor in the 81st Judicial District Attorney’s Office, which encompasses Wilson, Atascosa, Karnes, Frio, and LaSalle counties (the Eagle Ford Shale region). As Chief Felony Prosecutor in Cameron she tried numerous drug and capital murder cases. She also served as the supervisor of the Border Prosecution Unit, which is a department created by the governor to prosecute serious cases with a border nexus.

In February 2022 Brett was hired by Bruce E. Anderson to serve as his second chair managing Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury defense litigation throughout the State of Texas. On day 36 as a civil litigator, she cross examined her first Plaintiff in her first civil trial, which resulted in a defense verdict. From March 2022 to August 2025 Brett and Bruce handled nine medical malpractice trials together in Bexar, Nueces, Travis and Val Verde counties where Brett cross examined numerous witnesses and conducted voir dire eight times. While Brett has enjoyed her work as Chief Felony Prosecutor, she is looking forward to living in San Antonio and returning to civil litigation as a Partner with Anderson Cilfone. Brett’s commitment to justice and doing the right thing has remained steadfast throughout her career.
